Kumite training isn't just limited to sparring. Many of the techniques are incorporated in the Yakusoku Kumite and Ohyo Gumite techniques learnt in the dojo.
It is free sparring which is the ultimate test of your skills.
Providing you have a good solid foundation to your karate, like the training which is offered by Washinkai Karate, you will find kumite an enjoyable development within your training. Don't be put off if you find kumite difficult, like all aspects of martial arts training, practice makes perfect.
