The Executive Officers who have been selected to fulfill the vital posts as laid down in the Escritura.

The Executive Committee, (which includes the Officers) is made up of Washinkai Seniors.

Sensei Thompson

 

Sensei Chris Thompson (7th Dan) - Founder & Chairman

Neville Smith
  Neville Smith (5th Dan) - Vice Chairman

Neville has been training for over 30 years and is the Senior Instructor for Kent having produced many of the Instructors that now teach in the county.

Graham Smith
                          Graham Smith (5th Dan) - Secretary

Graham has been training for over 30 years, being one of the Founder Members of the Washinkai organization.  Having trained in Japan and Mexico, he is now is Senior Instructor for Sussex.

Alison Thompson
                            Alison Thompson (5th Dan) - Treasurer

Alison has been training for over 25 years.  She has trained in Japan, Norway, Europe, Hong Kong and the USA, and competed nationally at the EKC Championships before the formation of the EKGB.  She has guided many students to black belt, one of whom gained 2nd place at the British Championships held in Glasgow.

Neil Benton
  Neil Benton (5th Dan)

Neil has been training for over 25 years and was a successful competitor before joining the Washinkai organization.  He has opened several clubs in the Kent area producing many black belts

Shaz Shahid
 

Shaz Shahid (4th Dan)

Shaz has been training for over 25 years.  He started as a youngster with Sensei Thompson and whilst posted to Hong Kong with his job, he became the Hong Kong National Champion for two years’ running.  He has also trained and competed in Japan and the USA, representing the Washinkai organization.

Steve Pellitt
 

Steve Pellitt (4th Dan)

Steve has been training for 20 years in Japan, Europe and the USA accompanying Sensei Thompson to our Dallas, Texas dojo.  He has guided many students to black belt.

Roy Gould
 

Roy Gould (4th Dan)

Roy has been training for over 30 years, gaining his Shodan in Shotokan.  He came to Washinkai over 20 years ago and has trained in Japan as part of this organization.  He was a regular competitor in the Washinkai organization for many years and now runs a successful club in South London.

Annette Turpin (4th Dan)

Annette has been training for over 20 years and has been a successful competitor, winning many medals and trophies in the EKGB and British National Championships.  She has trained Japan, Hong Kong and Europe.

Sue Pryor (4th Dan)

Sue has been training for 20 years and has trained in Japan.  In her clubs in the Redhill area she has produced many black belts and is currently based in Kent.

Roy Taylor
 

Roy Taylor Sr (4th Dan)

Roy has been training for nearly 20 years and runs clubs in London, Berkshire and Gloucestershire and has produced some outstanding students. 

 Carmen Osbourne  

Carmen Osbourne (3rd Dan)

Carmen is one of our most successful competitors, both nationally and internationally.  She has won her kumite category at the VSO Championships, won medals and trophies at the EKGB and British Nationals.

Paul Hacker
 

Paul Hacker (3rd Dan)

Paul has turned Washinkai Karate into a major force in the West Country and in the few years since turning professional, has produced many black belts and competitors of a high calibre.  He has trained regularly in Europe facilitated the Dan Grading of one his student in Spain.  He is also the marketing director of the BTKA.

Mike Beasley (3rd Dan)

Mike has been training for over 20 years.  He has trained in Japan and for the last few years has worked tirelessly in the Borough of Merton and is now the Borough’s representative for karate at the London Youth Games.
