Kata techniques should be performed realistically, after all it is a fight against an opponent.
There is a tendency especially in competition to deviate from the original form so as to make it look more aesthetically pleasing. This type of practice should be avoided at all costs if you wish to perform kata correctly and accurately.
Below is the complete list of kata practised in the Washinkai syllabus.
Though a Wado based style you will see that there are kata from the all the major schools of karate. Washinkai believe that each kata should be performed as the original school intended and are privileged that Chief Instructor, Sensei Chris Thompson (7th Dan) was taught many of these kata by senior Japanese Instructors.
