Representing the BTKA

No member of the BTKA has the right to participate in external competitions. The permission of the Chief Instructor or your appointed Competition Coach must be obtained first.

If you have been permitted by the Chief Instructor to take part in an external competition, you must remember that you are representing the BTKA not only in your performance, but in your conduct. Poor conduct will reflect poorly on the BTKA and may affect the BTKA’s position in relation to the organisation running the competition.

Being offered the chance to represent your Association at Regional or National or even International level is a privilege which must not be misused.

Whether you win or not, how you compete is the most important factor.

General conduct, and Competition Rules

The same comments apply as for the BTKA competitions.

You should also familiarise yourself with the rules upon which the competition will be run, both the general rules and any rules special to this competition.

Disputes

If you are aggrieved at any decision that has been made, you should refer it immediately to the BTKA Squad Representative, in charge of the competition squad. The most senior member of the squad will usually be appointed by the Chief Instructor to deal with the competition's officials on the BTKA's behalf, so you must direct any problems to him. The Squad Representative will then consider your problem and take appropriate action.
