Licences must be renewed yearly. A fee is payable according to a scale set by the Association from time to time. A regular check is maintained on licences.
Unless a karate-ka holds a valid licence, he or she will not be permitted to under take any of the following:
- To participate in any training session;
- To take a grading;
- To participate in any BTKA Course, Gasshuku or competition;
- To participate in any Governing Body organised courses or competitions;
- To participate in any Governing Body-registered association competition.
This is of course in the interests of the other karate-ka attending at these events, who could be without compensation if injured by an unlicensed karate-ka.
